Want more money? Ask!

Many community websites are monetised nowadays, whether through Google Adsense, Affiliate Links or paid posts / paid links etc – the list is virtually endless!

How happy are you with the rates you are being paid? Are you sending an advertiser a lot of traffic and think you should be getting paid more? Well ask for more then!

You will be surprised at how often you can ask for more money and actually get it – as long as you give genuine reasons as to why you feel you deserve it. Has your site grown in popularity over the past few months? Are you still on the same rates compared to when your site was nothing but an alleyway frequented by tumbleweed? If people are making more money from your site, it is only right that you also get to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Whilst you have to be truly huge to get any concessions from the likes of Google, private advertisers and affiliate merchants will often be more than happy to raise commissions or advertising fees if you ask and are able to justify why you think your site is worth more.

I have negotiated increased rates with a number of advertising partners, which have been extremely fruitful. I was making around £150 per month from a specific advertiser. I wasn’t even sure that I deserved more, but I asked and am now earning around £600 per month from them. My only regret is not asking for more money sooner!

In future posts I hope to offer further advice on negotiating yourself higher rates based on who you are talking to – be it merchants of an affiliate program, private advertisers or paid links. In the meantime, take a look at your stats – if you are feel that your advertisers are enjoying more of the benefits of your success than you, then speak to them.

Communication strengthens relationships, and in this case may even make them more profitable!

Look easy as you describe, but I tryed one time to ask more money and the answer was “If what we give to you is not enough, find someone else”!!! But sometimes my readers buy me a coffee, better than nothing Huh?

onlinexcasinos – My apologies if I made it sound like getting more money was easy; that was not my intention! If you want more money though, and can justify the reasons why you deserve it, you can often negotiate higher rates. This doesn’t always work, though! Just remember – you will never know unless you ask!

When you provided good quality service to a client in the past, negotiating increased rates is easy. It really is as you said it so well, all you have to do is ask.

Hope each and every one in the community is good there. Jamal here from Pakistan. i am interested in developing some communities here in Pakistan. but i am facing the following two problems
Pay Pal does not operate in Pakistan, any alternate to that?
what about the longevity of the community ?
i mean when it comes to an end from your side ( administrator ) ?

Jamal – Why do you need to use PayPal? Many advertisers will offer alternative payment methods such as cheque or direct bank transfer. Contact the companies you are hoping to generate revenue from and research the payment methods offered.
