Powerful posts 17 June 2007

There are some fantastic resources out there if you know where to look. Here I will share some great articles I have recently come across in my online travels.

Mitch from HarpzOn wrote an interesting article entitled ‘Why Coke pays billions just to show you their logo‘. In this article, Mitch talks about the importance of brand awareness – something I wrote about in my post ‘Link building IV – Creating awareness‘.

Maki wrote a fantastic article about ’social proof’ in his article over at Dosh Dosh, entitled ‘Social proof optimisation: how to make your website appealing to the masses‘. A long article, but definitely worth your time and effort to read.

Shane from Zoomstart wrote an article that I couldn’t agree with more, entitled ‘The simplicity challenge‘. In this article, Shane writes about the value of keeping it simple.

Scott wrote an interesting article over at Self Made Minds entitled ‘Backlinks backlinks backlinks‘ – in the article, Scott writes about the value of backlinks and why you should aim for quality rather than quantity. A good supplement to my link building series.

Jonathan wrote a great article over at Smart Wealthy Rich entitled ‘Wasting time – money is the greatest of all distractions!‘. In the article, Jonathan advises us to worry less about the money and more about productivity.

Do you run a blog? If so, Nate’s article entitled ‘5 types of blog posts that generate blog traffic‘ will be of real interest and value to you.

Mani wrote about how to ‘Decrease your page load time to save traffic‘ – this is focussed towards blogs in particular, but is relevant for all types of website.

Ben from Instigator Blog talks about the importance of viewing a customer’s value for the long term, in his article entitled ‘Ignore a customer’s lifetime value at your own risk‘. I am amazed at the number of large corporations that still seem unable to recognise the true value of their customers.

Finally, a little light relief from Kevin over at Pointless Banter – read about what he considers to be ‘The best display of real power that I have ever read about‘. If you don’t have a sense of humour, Kevin’s blog may offend!

Were these articles of interest to you? If you think this post was of use, then please let me know and I will make them on a regular basis (perhaps every couple of weeks). If you prefer to only read articles I have authored myself, again let me know by leaving a comment.
